Here I made a molding and casting task of a star shaped element by making use of composite materials of a waste material from the shopbot machine and some portion of gypsum. There was a project in fab lab where I was required to make an engraving of a star shaped component as shown on the pictures below. The object was made of MDF board since i had that at my spare i decided to make my composite exercise by casting the shape. See the following pictures for more descriptions on the exercise.

It took almost two days to dry but the positive did not turn out to be as expected. I decided to mix the waste from the first trial with glue and did not come out to be well either therefor I am planning to try to mix some fiber to set and try to mod it again. Since we do not have fiber material at the lab, this might take a while.
